Relief & benefits in everyday life

Relief that reaches you

Many long-term care insurance benefits go unused – simply because nobody knows about them. I show you what you are entitled to and help you claim it, so that rest and financial relief get to where they are needed.

The relief allowance (§ 45b)

At every care level (Pflegegrad), €131 of relief allowance (Entlastungsbetrag) is available each month – for care support, household help or services that help in everyday life. Amounts that are not used can be saved up within certain time limits. I explain what you may use it for and how billing works.

Respite care (Verhinderungspflege, § 39)

If the person providing care is unavailable for a while – because of a holiday, illness or simply to catch their breath – respite care pays for replacement care. For care levels 2 to 5, a shared annual amount of up to €3,539 for respite and short-term care has been available since July 2025 – which you can use flexibly.

Short-term care (§ 42) & care aids (§ 40)

  • Short-term care: temporary full-time residential care, for example after a hospital stay
  • Consumable care aids: up to €42 a month for gloves, disinfectant, bed protectors & more
  • Home adaptation measures: a grant of up to €4,180 per measure for modifications such as grab rails or a barrier-free shower

So that nothing is lost

I give you an overview of all the available budgets, sort out your entitlements and help you claim them. That way you get the most out of your long-term care insurance – without the paperwork stress.
